Conditions of participation

Age
This is a youth conference, at which we welcome young people aged 14+.  Most participants are aged between 14 and 21, with attendees into their early 30’s. If you feel hesitant about joining due to age, please email us at office@iyfestival.org

Conference site
We are guests at the Waldorf School Heidelberg. We treat the buildings and nature with respect and care.

Overnight stay
We will sleep in class rooms. In accordance with German youth protection laws, girls and boys under the age of 18 may not share the same room.

Electronic Devices
We ask that you refrain from using smartphones and other electronic devices during the conference. At registration, we will set up a “cell phone babysitting” service where you can leave your phones for the duration of the event. All other electronic devices, such as laptops, boomboxes, tablets, etc., are strictly prohibited.

Drugs, Alcohol, Smoking
Alcohol and drugs are prohibited. Anyone using drugs will be excluded from the conference. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas for those aged 18 and over.
