Csaba Méhes: I work as a mime artist, comedian, clown and as a clown and mime teacher at the Budapest Clown School. I have been practicing my profession for 40 years, performing on theater, circus and variety stages. I lead workshops at Waldorf schools in Hungary and also teach Bothmer gymnastics.

We will paint a large picture together. You don’t have to be able to “paint” for this, but you do have to enjoy discovery, surprise and process! And be able to bear the fact that it will be completely different “than you thought”!
Zur Person: Norbert Schaaf. Born in 1958 in a village near the Rhine Falls on the Swiss border. Painted as a child, like every child, but then never stopped. Main interest: the human face.   • look closely and put what you perceive into words
  • “invent” a story from a few, simple, given facts with concrete imagination that becomes an experience for others

A discussion group: Should we preserve the world as it is, or should we transform it, and if so, how?

Ben Black: I was born in Toronto, Canada in 1976. After attending the Toronto Waldorf School, I studied German, English and Religious Studies at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick and at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen. Since 2002 I have been studying at the Freie Hochschule der Christengemeinschaft in Stuttgart. I was ordained a priest in 2008. 14 years working in Cologne and since December 2023 Ben Black has been living and working as a priest in Berlin.

Why do we get up in the morning? What does it even mean to get up for something?
Anyone who stands on a stage stands for something. They embody a character, a person, a being, perhaps even an object. In the theater workshop, we want to practice standing on stage together and putting ourselves in the shoes of different beings. This is incredibly fun in the here and now!
At the same time, it can also teach us to stand up in life, to stand for something in the future.

Sebastian Otto: born 1977 in Darmstadt, has been a priest of the Christian Community since 2017. Before that, he was a teacher of mathematics and biology for 8 years and accompanied many theater projects during this time. He currently works in the Christian Community in Nuremberg.

WS-10: Archery (Steffen Barth)
Archery
“Man is the bow, thought is the arrow and righteousness is the target” (Chinese proverb).
We will practise the art of archery, which has a lot to do with how we want to place ourselves in life. How do I handle the bow and arrow? How do I set myself up and find a good stance? How do I manage to concentrate on a goal? The path of the bow has always been understood as a path of inner training.

Steffen Barth: The fact that I did my civilian service in nature conservation after leaving school was very important for my career. This made me realize that I no longer just wanted to work with my head, but also with my hands on the earth. I worked on various Demeter farms for over seven years. This work gave me a foundation and a love of the earth that made it possible for me to become a priest.

I live in Stuttgart-Mitte with my wife and our two children.
It has always been very important to me that young people also find the freedom to ask their deeper questions and immerse themselves in life with joy. That’s why, in addition to teaching at school, I’ve helped prepare many youth conferences and gone on camps with young people. To keep my strength up despite all the demands that come my way, I enjoy hiking, swimming and practicing Japanese archery (Kyudo).

Icon painting tradition can be found for hundreds and thousands of years in many countries and cultures. Unfortunately, many of them have not survived the breath of time and turned back into the sand and earth. The traces of glass icons date back to ancient Rome and the Middle Ages. Glass is a very fragile substance. We want to create something constant and stable with the fine and breakable. We want to bring the old and the new together and develop new spiritual impulses through joint creation.

Olga Shatna: born on 8.02.1992 in Horodenka, Ukraine. Studied philosophy and religious studies at the Kiev-Mohyla Academy, graduated from the Free Youth Seminar and the Free University in Stuttgart. Works at the Waldorf School as a class teacher and art teacher. Gives courses for children and adults in art, crafts and art therapy.

Maryna Yandolenko: Maryna Yandolenko was born on 15.05.1978 in Odesa, Ukraine. She is a freelance artist and lecturer for many painting courses for adults and children. Studied at the State Academy of Design and Art in Kharkiv (Ukraine) and at the Art College of M. Grekov in Odesa, specializing in painting. Has over 20 exhibitions in Germany, Ukraine and other countries. Numerous paintings are in private collections all over the world as well as in museums in Ukraine. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and the Federal Association of Visual Artists in Germany.

Dear women, let’s talk!
What do you know about your bodies? Do you know, for example, that you can’t get pregnant all the time and why that is?
In this workshop I’ll give you an insight into how you can plan your month in a way that *aligns* with your cycle. And why that could be important.

Eleonora Pohl: My name is Eleonora Sophie Pohl, I’m 23 years old and I’m from Switzerland. After graduating from high school in 2019, I went traveling. First to Iceland, then two years later off to Italy with
my dog Finn and my bike. There, on a farm in the middle of the hills of Piedmont, I met the man that is now my partner. In 2022, I traveled again, to the Canary Islands, where I completed a permaculture design course, among other things. In the summer of the same year, I unexpectedly became pregnant and my life was turned upside down. During my pregnancy, I discovered my passion for childbirth and all things to do with that. In May 23, I gave birth to my son at home,
just with my partner present (“unassisted home birth” or “freebirth”). Since then, I have trained as a birth keeper and am currently expanding my knowledge in a course on the woman’s cycle. My
dream is to have a biodynamic permaculture farm with vineyards, which among other things is a place for women to come together and offer support during pregnancy, birth and postpartum and in all other life situations.

Life can sometimes be quite challenging. Then humor can be the proverbial button that prevents us from bursting our collars. In this workshop, we want to look at how to meet such challenges with humor in writing (and reading aloud).

Jana Bidaut: I was born in a country that no longer exists. Together with my husband, I was able to welcome four fabulous children who make our lives colorful and turbulent. I am also an enthusiastic teacher, drama teacher and actress and curious about the surprises and challenges that life offers me.

Do I want to create the future or see the world come to an end?

The ability to shape the future lies within each and every one of us. But it often remains undiscovered and unused.
In our group, we want to discover and get to know this ability together. So that each of us can use it in the future.

Xenia Medvedeva was born in 1980 in Charkov, Ukraine. After studying geography and training as a Waldorf teacher, she began her studies at the seminary in Stuttgart. Ordained a priest in 2008 and sent to the parish of Nürtingen. Priestess in the parish in Stuttgart-Nord since 2014. Lecturer at the seminary since 2017; in charge of the Stuttgart seminary since September 2019.

Antonie Hentschel: I grew up in Herdecke near Witten, followed by an FSJ in biodynamic agriculture in Estonia and an eventful walk along the Camino de Santiago in Spain. I also worked as a Waldorf teacher in an indigenous school in the jungle of Argentina.
Now I’m studying at the priest seminary in Stuttgart and I’m really looking forward to experiencing and getting to know the world more and more.

Mariano Kasanetz: Born in Buenos Aires in 1971. Married, father of two children. Graduated in physics from the University of Buenos Aires. He also studied music, singing and Chinese medicine. Lover of mountain hiking and camping. After studying at the seminaries in Stuttgart and Hamburg, he was ordained a priest of the Christian Community in 2004. Since then he has worked in the parish of Buenos Aires. Since September 2019, he has been working in the management of the seminary in Stuttgart.

How big is my own soul and what can it encompass? Can I use it to explore areas of the world and of myself that would otherwise remain hidden from me? And if so, do I recognize a deeper meaning in this new encounter with the world and myself? Eurythmy is a way of exploring and expressing oneself and the world.

Victor Zegarra: He attended the Waldorf School in Peru, studied eurythmy in Stuttgart at the age of 20 and, after graduating, began teaching eurythmy at the Goethe School in Pforzheim, where he still works today.

WS-19: The end of one-sidedness - contradictions and ambiguities in the context of the Middle East conflict (Daniel Hoffmann)
The end of one-sidedness – contradictions and ambiguities in the context of the Middle East conflict

Since October 7, 2023, the Middle East conflict has once again been very much in the media spotlight. This conflict is not only controversial, but also very complex. One-sided opinions often dominate the discussions, but it is precisely global issues like this that require a nuanced perspective. In our workshop, we want to explore the concept of ambiguity tolerance – the ability to deal with contradictions and ambiguities without falling into one-sidedness. Together we will find out how the increasing polarization in society can be countered.

Workshop structure over three days:

  1. Personal insights and basics: On the first day, we will start by sharing our knowledge about the Middle East conflict. I will then report on my personal experience of the topic.
  2. Ambiguity tolerance – theory and practice: On the second day, we will explore how we can better understand and accept ambiguity.
  3. Media and social media: On the third day, we will analyze how the media portrays the Middle East conflict and practice critically questioning the news. We will also examine the role of social media.

Aim of the workshop: This workshop should not only inform you, but also inspire you to actively participate in shaping a more open and understanding society. Together we want to find out how we can tackle complex global issues without falling into one-sidedness.

Daniel Hoffmann: Childhood and youth at Lake Constance. Traveled to many countries. Studied political science and sociology (B.A.) and cultural management (M.A.). Currently working at the Goethe-Institut on projects with international guests. Intensive involvement with the Middle East conflict during his school years through stays in Israel and visits to the West Bank. Since then she has led many workshops on the topic.

What can we do for peace today? First and foremost, we can start developing peace within ourselves. Meditation and prayer strengthen the power of peace in people. The workshop will show you specific exercises on how to find peace within yourself.

Fabian Hog:Born in Freiburg, trained as a nurse, accompanied many suffering people, ordained a priest in 2003, working in France since 2012.

From dreams to deeds.

I propose to work in one of the modelling techniques. Basically, the paper pulp is similar to papier-mâché, using wire for the frame and foil to create volume. Currently, it is an extremely difficult task to go from talking to working in the material. That is also one of the reasons why I get up-I want to do something in the material.

I invite people to create together who like to explore life through modelling and sculpting, are not afraid to get their hands dirty and like to create something with their own hands.

…. Or those who try to believe that his hands are smart.

Or those who want to try to work with material through investigation on the subject: Why do I stand up?

Evgenia Rutschka:

Born in 1977 in Kiev. I successfully completed my diploma in graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kiev in 2001. After my graduation, I became more and more interested in painting and various art techniques.

In my work I am interested in special themes and techniques in painting.
Circus, Ukrainian poetry, nature, observation of relationships between people, colours and textures still inspire me and give me creativity.
I have been living in Germany since March 2022 and have found a new home in the beautiful village of Wahlweise with my family.
